I much prefer a percentage of sales so I know exactly what's going where. Since it's 100% of the profits in Gucci's case, I feel a bit better about it. The worst is when a company just says they'll donate "a percentage of the profits" -- which I generally interpret as "such a piddly amount of what you're paying we don't want you to know." Yeah — Committing “profits” as donations is, in general, problematic for me. I much prefer a percentage of sales so I know exactly what’s going where. Since it’s 100% of the profits in Gucci’s case, I feel a bit better about it.
