Brighton

Detroit
MOCAD Cafe. 4454 Woodward Ave. The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit serves fair-trade coffee, along with sandwiches, soups, and salads.

East Lansing

Flint
Good Beans Cafe. 328 S. Grand Traverse. This coffee shop serves fair trade coffee from Higher Grounds Trading Co.

Grand Rapids

Erika’s Deli, Bistro and Market. 3989 Cascade Road SE. This place serves Pura Vida fair trade organic coffee, smoothies and fresh juices, and a bistro deli menu for dinner.

The Green Life Market. 944 E. Fulton St. 616.242.0022. A green store that also serves as a cafe of sorts, with fair trade coffee.

The Stray Dog Cafe and Newsstand. 1035 Wealthy SE. This coffee shop serves fair trade coffee and tea, most of which are organic. And they have newspapers!

Lansing
Brewster’s Beanery. 6003 W. Saginaw Highway. 517.886.6300. Brewster’s coffee and chocolate is all fair trade certified and organic, thanks to Grounds for Change and Divine Chocolate.

Magdalena’s Tea House. 2006 E. Michigan Ave. 517.487.1822. This cafe works to “foster sustainable living ideals and to provide healthful, whole food, and fair-trade beverage choices.” :)

Sawyer’s Gourmet Pancake House. 608 W. Saginaw St. 517.485.9410. This locavorian’s paradise offers fair trade Mexican coffee alongside dishes that are mostly made of organic, local ingredients.

Sparty’s Cafes. Michigan State University (17 locations on campus). 517.355.4550. Brews “Spartan Spirit,” a Fair Trade certified coffee blend :)

Bake ‘n Cakes. 3003 E. Kalamazoo St. 517.337.2253. This local bakery also brews all fair trade coffee :)

Chapbook Cafe at Schuler Books & Music. 2820 Towne Center Blvd. 517.316.7495. This place has fair trade coffee brewing most days, according to Summer, who works at the cafe :)

Ludington

Saline
Beanstalks Play Cafe. 117 S. Ann Arbor St. 734.944.7979. This eco-friendly coffee shop serves fair trade coffee.

Traverse City
Higher Grounds Trading Co. Roastery and Coffee Bar. The Village at Grand Traverse Commons, Building 53. This coffee shop offering fair trade and organic coffee will open Aug. 2007.
