If you want to save the planet, but are too hung over to start, just start drinking again and consider your work done.
You’ll be part of the Fermenting Revolution. Started by a Chris O’Brien, this site is A Beer Activist’s Guide to Saving the World. You’ll find out how your drinking habit can slow climate change, save water, and possibly change restrictive hemp laws in the US. There’s Fair Trade beer info too.
One caveat: Make sure your brew’s activist-friendly. At the moment I’m having a little trouble finding organic or fair trade beers locally — you know, where I can drink them at a bar with friends, as opposed to, say, getting bottles shipped to my house in large quantities and drinking them alone.
Finding such bars seems crucial to this beer movement. A bar could serve not only as a watering hole but also as a headquarters from which to meet other drunk activists to launch subversive and eco-friendly programs at a local level –

I’ll try to look for it around LA. I should drink more beer in general, really — Was leafing through Orman’s The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke today and one of her tips were “Stop drinking $10 martinis…”

$10 martinis..geez. I like a good pub but with a lack of them around me, I’ve grown tired of the bar scene. Cheap beer here in Texas seems to be about $3.50 a pint. For the price of two I could just as easily get a six pack and have friends come over. There who I’m going to be talking to anyways.
