My e-friend Joseph asked me a while back: How can a greenie stop getting all those damn phone books? If you’re like me, you never even use paper phone books anymore. I Google, mostly, so I can search businesses by distance. I like to get my stuff at places I can run to.
But actually stopping delivery — Well, that’s no simple matter. Still, the blogosphere’s been tackling it! Check out this post from The Old New Thing. His tip: To figure out who to contact about getting off the list, call the “How to order more copies of this wonderful telephone directory” number.
Note to self: Calling at 1 a.m. is not productive — The poor phone company drones only work normal biz hours. Plus — Why should I have to call and wait on hold? So I tried emailing, and hope the paper waste stops. Contact info below, to be updated with my results –
