Thanks George :)

Hey jeni -- It would be an excellent idea, except that unbeknownst to the people working at the Starbucks on 2nd and 9th, the fair trade on the 20th program's been phased out in lieu of a coffee of the week program (<a href="http://greenlagirl.com/2005/12/09/starbucks-factsheet-for-fair-trade-activists/" rel="nofollow">see factsheet here</a>). I wish Starbucks would actually let their people know when they decide to change things around --

I'm very curious though -- Maybe your store, being behind the times, will actually end up brewing Cafe Estima on the 20th? Keep it on the calendar and let us me know what happens, if you have the time :)

Hi Siel :)

Reporting here from the Starbucks here on 2nd Ave & 9th St. I asked them for FT and their immediate response was "We have it once a month during our fair trade day - on the 20th." The last time I was here, one girl was confused about what it was, and the other didn't know when they brew it. So it was definitely a step up. Infact, they seemed ready to answer me even before I asked the question. I can tell they've been prepped, at least briefed on this. I've marked this on my planner, and will be making a round on that day to a few Starbucks in the area to double check. I don't know if the 20th date is national, but if it is, Siel I think we should get a few volunteers from each area (at least each major city) to go to our local Starbucks chains to gather a collective report on this. I think that would result in a better representation, especially if that's denoted as their 'official' FT day of the month. What do you think?

take care.
