Can car windows break on their own?
Went to my car today — in the pouring rain — to take Joey back to her permanent home — and saw the window on the driver’s side was broken.
Glass was everywhere, and the seats were soaked with rain — But otherwise, everything was fine. The radio and tape player worked. Even my emergency kit sat undisturbed.
Which makes me think that either someone decided to break my window in a random act of violence, or my window underwent a spontaneous explosion. What up?
What with needing new tires, a new window, and a general cleansing and drying out for the interior of my car, I’m wondering if this is some sort of new year’s sign that I should take a drastic move and donate Mut to Goodwill or something.
Of course, it’s pouring rain, and no one’s working today. Mut’s been garaged so as to keep from getting even more waterlogged…
Update, 1/8-9/06: I got a new window, and new tires! Both done locally, for cheap.

Hey just wondering did your power window switches get damaged or failed so far? Same thing happened to my car today, door interior and switches on them as well as the leather seats were soaked! Barely had this new Honda Civic for a week sigh.

Wow — Sorry to hear that! My power windows & locks weren’t affected at all by the broken glass or the rain — Everything’s still working fine — I guess I was lucky!
