green LA girl’s blogging for choice, on the 33rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
What with the whole Alito debacle, I’ve been overwhelmed, lately, with the number of emails, petitions, and good old fashioned letters asking for money to go toward saving Roe v. Wade.
And because this deluge of petitions, requests, and letters has been going on for a long long time now — re: Prop 73, Roberts, etc. — I’m afraid the issue’s losing urgency for a lot of people.
Bloggers for choice: Blog urgently.
To inspire urgency: Texas doctors who perform abortions could face the death penalty. Bush still won’t say whether he’s against contraception. Emergency contraception STILL isn’t avaliable over the counter. More here.

I’m doing my part by going to the Roe v. Wade event here honoring Susan Wood among others this Thursday.

Are you happy about abortion? Is it something you celebrate? Is it something you are looking forward to doing as a convenient birth control method? Just curious.

No, I’m not looking forward to an abortion. I always use condoms like a good girl.
I’m happy that women still have the right to choose, though for many, that choice is becoming a rather empty one –

Yeah, I’m FOR the right to choose! Take ownership and responsibility of your body, mind and soul…:-) Cheers.

which, by the way, does not include a uterus. But if I had one, I would only want a doctor and my closest loved ones there. Not my senators or presidents.
