Pics to come later (Update: now up!), but it was a full house and a lotta fun at the Environmental Blogging panel at the Commonwealth Club on Tuesday.

I freaked a little when the other panelists whipped out their prepped notes at the beginning of the panel — though Jamais (right) says he just took out some blank sheets to take notes :)

The other panelists: Jamais from WorldChanging, Kyeann from Treehugger, and Nick from Triple Pundit / Treehugger. Gil Friend — who writes for WorldChanging — moderated, and Eric Corey Freed, the OrganicArchitect, put the thing together (below, left).

What was most interesting to me was the ways in which fellow panelists are working to make both environmental work and blogging an economically viable enterprise, both for the individuals involved and for the world around us. WorldChanging’s funded by outside grants, while Treehugger’s working on a more traditional model of selling ads on the site.

Meanwhile — I think I may run enough blogads to buy a bike — But I’m waiting for the moolah to get paypaled to me, at which point I’ll start 2-wheeling around town. While my goal’s not to make a living off of blogging, I’m glad that others are working to show that environmental activism is not necessarily just an altruistic or economically foolish enterprise –

Super exciting to see people interested not only in environmental issues, but also in blogging!
