Fair trade’s got a journal! Check out issue 0 (PDF) of Just Things: The Fair Trade Journal of Applied Counter-Economics, courtesy of Steve of Fairly Informed.
This issue is both very focused but wide-reaching. The articles juxtapose poverty with the feeling of power, huger with emotions, local economies with justice. And Steve’s own article gives a quick & dirty rundown of the various coffee logos so you can figure out what’s what.
Issue 1 debuts May 1, and will focus more closely on fair trade certification as provided by TransFair USA. If you’ve been following my Certification Challenge series, this is your chance to not only find out more, but to put in your two cents. To contribute, post your thoughts as a blog entry on Fairly Informed. You can read about other proposed themes for future issues here.
Update, 5/2/06: Here’s Just Things 1.1.

I look forward to reading it. I’m sure it’ll end up in my sidebar.

cool, otherwise it seems that scientific articles on fair trade (not the protectionist kind) end up in peer-reviewed journals on business ethics and sustainable development and such.
