Synergy Cafe
Synergy Cafe’s as cool as Rainy made it out to be — This Culver City coffee shop’s a space for community, with nightly events. According to the website: “Synergy Cafe prides itself on being an utopian initiative that seeks to merge individual creativity into a synergetic community.”
There’s even a Stitch ‘n Bitch group on Monday nights, beginning at 7 pm.
Only downside — When I was there, from 3 to 6-ish yesterday, the place was overrun with teenagers.
Ok — I have no prob. with high schoolers — It’s just that the ones there were a group of 15-year-old-ish girls who found the teenage barista terribly cute, and giggled continuously at a high pitch for his attention. I get the sense the girls stop by there most days…
Otherwise, a sweet coffee shop with yummy pastries and sandwiches, Groundwork coffee, local art, and wifi :)

Ah, heres the rub. Culver Middle and High Schools are both a block away down Farragut. So between 3-6, yeah, it’s totally crammed with teens.
Otherwise? Awesome venue, I’m SO glad you made it! Sorry I missed SnB, I had a sick kid :-(

OK so the cute barista boy has moved on (college)and the scool girls have settled down quite a bit. Thank you all for your kind words about the cafe. As one of the owners of the place, even I try not to be here for the “kids rush”, as we call it with affection. Actually, it’s more like 3pm to 4:30pm during school months. It’s safe through the summer though. Cheers and see you here!

Wait — I now feel I was way harsh on the teenagers! If I were a teen again, I would feel so happy and lucky to have a place like Synergy where I could hang and watch cute boys! Good to know about the “kids rush” though — We “adults” will learn to share Synergy accordingly :P
