Green blogging at Mani’s

Usually, I go to the Fairfax location, but I had to meet Michael from Groovy Green half way. He was in Malibu for a family reunion of sorts — and took the time out to have a lil chat over coffee with me at Mani’s Bakery in Santa Monica.

If you live in LA and don’t yet know about Mani’s — You’ve been missing out, and you’re really, really lucky you read green LA girl ;)

This bakery has the healthiest baked goods — mostly organic, fruit juice sweetened stuff. Not only is the stuff healthier, it’s less processed, more natural, and better for both you and the environment. And it’s yummy, of course :) I had a breakfast burrito with vegan sausage…

Plus, Mani’s serves Groundwork Coffee and has a blog! What more can you ask for from your bakery?

And just for kicks — Here’s some interesting info from Mani’s FAQ:

Why did you stop carrying Coca-Cola products?

Several months ago, Mäni’s decided to take our sodas to the next level. Because we want to provide our customers with healthier alternatives, we chose to bring in a soda with no preservatives and no high fructose corn syrup. For those concerned with calories, we still offer the Diet Coke in glass bottles.

Y’all know about killer coke, yes?

    Hey Siel:

Mani’s is my FAVORITE place (and one of the few places in LA I can get macrobiotic goodies!) Your blog inspired me to start my own - check it out when you get a chance: mymacrolife.blogspot.com.

    Another great article! thanks!

Hey MacroGal! My fave macro place is Sante La Brea — And I’m not even macro! Real Food Daily has some good options too :)

    I don’t think I could ever go macro, cuz then I couldn’t eat bananas…
