Note to self

To me, little notebooks are like crack, especially if they’re eco-friendly. I bought not just 1, but 2 lil notebooks at the Hammer Museum.

This second one was a Lamali notebook. Environmentally friendly, and hand crafted by village co-ops and imported by Savoir Faire. Just $4.95 each — about the price of a venti whatever at Starbucks.

Hammer Museum also carries a lot of decorative household stuff from Swahili Imports which, according to its website, upholds “a mission of sustainable trade between talented African artisans and discerning buyers.” No Fair Trade Federation label though — Anyone know more about this company?
