A series that runs every Tuesday, where I ask questions unrelated to the environment, fair trade, or local politics that I’ve been wondering about but haven’t been able to google the answers to. Any advice is appreciated.
Yes, it’s Sunday. I’m way late again. I know, I know…
Since moving, I’ve been DSL-less. At first, I thought I’d just go sans DSL, since Velocity Cafe — with free wireless — is right down the street.
But I’m spending way too much time here. I’m eating a breakfast burrito a day, with many many cups of coffee. Worst of all, Velocity Cafe isn’t open late nite — and sometimes I like to blog at midnight, glass of wine in hand.
So today I’ve been looking at the DSL options — SBC/ATT/Yahoo/Cingular or Verizon — both of which are big red companies that donate lots to the Republicans :(
What’s a liberal girl to do?

You can try dslextreme.com for about the same price as ATT or Verizon.

I can’t vouch for their politics but you might give DSLExtreme a ring.
(ps — Venice Grind was so pleased with your review — I brought them a copy — and I think they put it in their window.)

There’s also speakeasy.net
Be aware though that both dslextreme and speakeasy rent their lines from Hell Verizon/SBC/ATT
(No, there’s no other way to get broadband. Well, except Adelphia - if you want cable. Hooray for legalized monopolies.)

Damn. Well, thanks for trying to help though — I went ahead and got Verizon. Still waiting for them to get back to me with a connect date –
