Phoenix has something LA doesn’t: A fair trade cafe, creatively named Fair Trade Cafe.
This neatly designed, well-lit cafe offers free wifi along with fair trade coffee and tea, both by the cup and in bags & boxes to brew at home. Kate and I got a cup each, along with a slice of yummy blueberry bread.
The place brews and sells mostly Pura Vida coffee, but also offers coffee from a co-op of about 50 families in Chiapas, Mexico called Just Coffee (not to be confused with the 100% fair trade coffee roaster Just Coffee in Wisconsin).
The cafe’s a nonprofit operation that appears to be a part of Cathedral Center for the Arts, which is a part of the nearby Trinity Cathedral. But luckily for me, aside from some coffee for sale called Bishop’s Blend, the place didn’t have a religious feel –
Fair Trade Cafe. 1020 N. First Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 602.354.8150. Mon-Thu, 6 am - 7 pm. Fri, 6 am - 10 pm. Sa-Su, 7 am - 5 pm.

But I want to get on the list and network with you all…I have info. I need to relate to you all.
Regarding Gov. Surveillence…Thanks Ms. Kris

Hi Ms. Kris — I’m guessing this is a meeting happening at the FT Cafe in Phoenix? I actually don’t live there — I just dropped by the cafe when I was visiting. In any case, have fun at the meeting :)

Drop by the Fair Trade Cafe during the month of April 08 as we celebrate Earth Day and our ecology with a display of photographs by nature photographer Jill Jones.
