People’s Choice Award!

Posted by Siel in caffeine, fairtrade, starbuckschallenge (Sunday June 4, 2006 at 12:05 pm)

City Hippy and green LA girl are now proud to announce the Starbucks Challenge Peoples Choice Award nominees awaiting your votes.

The prize: a Fan Belt, courtesy of BTC Elements. The belt’s made of recycled tire inner tubes in Boulder, Colorado.

And the nominees for the Starbucks Challenge Peoples Choice Award for services to the Challenge are:

Declan of Dublin
Declan is a long time supporter of the challenge. In phase 4, he did 3 challenges with mixed results — but plenty of interesting observations about Starbucks staff, some of whom thought they’d stopped doing fairtrade, or that all their coffee is fairtrade. No training problems there then, eh? ;)

Snooble
Took 3 challenges within just 8 days and all in the Philly area :) On top of that, she took the time to educate others about fair trade and Starbucks’ practices — the good and the bad — on Surfing on a Rocket. AND — the baristas reading this will love this one — she tipped 150% after her first successful challenge :)

Two Heroes
Two heroes has taken 13 challenges (surely a record?) and has blogged them all on one page. Now that is what I call dedication…and we love dedication ;)

VOTE NOW! Voting ends on Sunday, June 18; winners will be announced Monday, June 19, 2006.

Have a fair trade day :)

  1. Whoa… Thanks for the nomination. Didn’t expect that comin’. I try to do one every two weeks, but have been lazy lately, and unlucky. At least twice I’ve walked in on Estima as coffee of the day accidentally. It’s hard here in the ‘burbs to hit new locations frequently as well. After all, I’m not goin’ ten miles outta my way to do one. I’m committed, but not THAT committed.

All in all, this challenge thing is ongoing and informative - how corporations respond to bloggers most of all. Certification challenges has been fascinating as well. Thanks for co-starting this:).
