Just finished The Corrections at the 18th Street Coffee House. I’d biked by this place like a dozen times, but didn’t stop in until today, in light of lag2’s comment.
From the outside, it looked like a diner, but it’s a spacious coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. There’s organic coffee from Groundwork, yummy baked goods, as well as sandwiches and salads. On this Thursday afternoon, the place was pretty busy but not crowded, with people from all age groups.
There’s no wifi, but lotsa people were busy on their laptops. Good music, calm atmosphere (no cell convos allowed) — I especially liked that the tables were well spaced out :) I finally read the last 150 pages or so of my book over a fresh tuna sandwich on sourdough.
Plus, 18th St.’s only a short bike ride away for me — just 3 blocks from Co-opportunity :)

You may be amused to hear that after biking a bit I resolved to change my vocabulary: I drive my bike, and ride a car . . . really catches the ear of those passive car riders . . .

Interesting use of semantics — Does it really catch the ear of car drivers? A lil unsure…

Sounds like this place is owned by blue eyed son Bob Dylan.

Next Dec.! That’s so far away! Well, I’m there most days of the week, so do drop by and say hello :)

Thank you for your kind invitation, Siel. The reason why it’s gonna take so long is because I live in the Netherlands, that’s not ‘next door’, as you probably know? My daughter and I have just started planning a trip around California. We so look forward to it! We hope to see you then. It feels like we have a friend, already.
