Want fair trade chocolate with your fair trade coffee? Here’s my current list for fair trade chocolate in Los Angeles —
Lemme know if you know about other places in the LA area, and I’ll add them to the list :)
All over the L.A. area
Whole Foods Market, all over SoCal. Whole Foods carries Equal Exchange, Shaman Chocolates, and other organic fair trade chocolates.
Beverly Hills
Made to Inspire. This boutique offers the Art Bar, which comes courtesy of Ithaca Fine Chocolates, the first US company to get fair trade certified.
Pasadena
Ten Thousand Villages. Drop by your fair trade chocolate fix, and shop for some other pretty fair trade goods while you’re at it.
South Pasadena
Organic Rush. This eco-friendly store offers Theo’s chocolates! You can get them in prettily wrapped gift baskets too, if you’re getting them to give away –
Santa Monica
Co-opportunity. Go to this local co-op for fair trade chocolate from Divine or Shaman Chocolates. You can also get Dagoba cocoa :)
Wild Oats. You can get fair trade chocolate from Endangered Species and Green & Blacks at these soon-to-be Whole Foods stores.
Westwood
Cost Plus. Get your Green and Black’s Maya Gold fix here.

If your only option for fair trade chocolate’s to buy it online, I recommend:
>> Equal Exchange. This fair trade co-op has chocolates made not only with fair trade cocoa, but also fair trade sugar :)
>> Sweet Earth Organic Chocolates. This NoCal company’s run by one serious fair trade activist who not only makes the chocolates, but also runs Project Hope and Fairness and organizes group excursions to visit West Africa, both to educate visitors and to aid cocoa farmers.
>> The San Francisco Chocolate Factory. This company’s all about organic and fair trade chocolate :)
>> Theo Chocolate. This choco company wins on pretty presentation and creative flavors like chocolate curry.
