Cruising down the street on my pink bike, I suddenly spotted a “Sustainable Home and Design” sign — so I wheeled around into Earth Accents.
Everything in the place is sustainably produced and made — from pretty modern furniture to lots of organic cotton and bamboo towels to luminous recycled glassware to fair trade lotion!
I met Vicky, the owner, who I peppered with over-excited questions about all her products and how she got started, etc. etc. Apparently, this gorgeous store’s only been open for 2 weeks! Which explains why I’d never spotted it before. Previously, Earth Accents had been mainly web-based, though she did share a space with Organic Interior Design in Venice for a lil while.
It was amazing seeing so many eco-friendly paints, plasters, and varnishes collected for you in one place. And for the people who, unlike me, own houses and wanna fix it up, you can check out samples of sustainable and reclaimed wood flooring — or even the newer wood alternatives like bamboo.
My buy was an Earth Accents brand candle — a 100% natural soy based candle with an eco-friendly wick that was hand-poured right in Los Angeles :) I got “Relaxation” — a blend of lavender and lemongrass –
