2 flight delays and a long car ride later, we’re settled in Cooperstown. Our cell phones’ve all gone on strike — only Cingular works up here, apparently :(
On the upside — I’m enjoying checking out the reader-recommended spots.
So far, I’ve had lunch at Danny’s Market and coffee at Stagecoach Coffee — which does have some fair trade blends, though, unfortunately, none were brewing when I stopped by yesterday.
Also — we’re staying at a nice local bed and breakfast called Nelson Avenue Pines (pic left).
It’s cute and quaint; more importantly, it has free wifi :)
Which almost makes up for the fact that — because Budget didn’t have any economy-sized cars despite the fact that I’d reserved one — I’m stuck driving an SUV. AAAHHHH!!!!!

It looks like a lovely old building, cant believe it has wifi :-) Your lucky to get free wifi in hotels in Ireland.

If you make it to Ithaca, don’t miss the Farmer’s Market, Moosewood Restaurant and Gimme, the best coffee in upstate NY.

Oh Please Siel… I just know you wanted the Budget Hummer upgrade instead, but could not let your readers down. I mean really, you are on vacation, you can splurge…. ;)
Have a nice time!

I’m not sure if the wifi actually came with the room at the B&B, or if I was illegally siphoning off someone else’s who lived in the area. I’m hoping the former –
Didn’t make it to Ithaca, but it must be really purty up there, cuz you’re one of about 5 people who recommended I go up there! :)
It was rather weird driving through all the pretty greenery of nature in a red SUV…
