Taking Action after Black Gold, part V: Oxfam wants your help

Posted by Siel in caffeine, fairtrade (Tuesday September 26, 2006 at 2:56 am)

Inspired to act after watching Black Gold? (film review here). This post’s part of a series for people who’ve seen (or want to see) the film and want to act. [Part IV is here]

Action Step V: Volunteer at movie showings.

If you’ve seen — or want to see — Black Gold, and wanna be involved further with the movie — Sign up to volunteer at the theaters with Oxfam America.

Between Oct. 1 to the end of Jan. 2007, Oxfam needs your help at Black Gold movie showings all over the country.

The work’s easy — Basically, you arrive early & set up an info table, then talk to filmgoers about Oxfam and Make Trade Fair, then pack up and report back to Oxfam staff. You can also volunteer to help out with advance promotion for the film.

I would sign up, but LA’s not on the list of places :( Not yet, at least…

You can also sign up to help out with Acoustic Africa on the same web sign-up form :)
