If I lived in San Francisco, I’d prolly go with De La Paz Coffee for my morning caffeine fix.
We’re talking yummy, all fair trade, all organic coffee, delivered to your door — via bike.
After getting his grad degree at the Monterey Institue of International Studies, Jason — the founder — decided to get deep into coffee, both for its yumminess, and its potential for catalyzing social change.
And he sent me some Ethiopia Yirgacheffe –- which both I and my friend Scott, who crashed at my place last weekend, really liked. Our opinion: It was smooth.
Jason sez de la Paz has been roasting coffee for just 14 months. TransFair USA, the nonprofit that provides licencing to US companies to sell fair trade certified coffee, has been v. helpful, Jason says.
Plus, the double certification — organic and fair trade — has been a great marketing help — Especially in San Francisco :)
Sadly, de la Paz won’t bike down to LA to deliver coffee to me via human power :P But if you live in San Francisco, check out the super-affordable delivery program!
De La Paz Coffee, 200 Guerrero St. #315. San Francisco. 415.200.6632.

THAT is awesome! I will for sure hafta post about that on bitchinspin. They need and Xtracycle for larger deliveries, they could even hook up a bike blender and make frappacinos on the way!!!

Thanks Johan — I got the email too, but took a while getting the post up.
Anna — You might be interested to know that The Coffee Cellar (Angel’s lil place) delivers to the Bicycle Kitchen — I believe on Thursdays! Not sure if that’s done on bike, however…
