Vote! State Assembly Member, 41st District

Posted by Siel in environment, feminist/politics (Saturday November 4, 2006 at 11:46 am)

How I’m voting for the environment on Nov. 7, 2006, at the state-level. Here’s how I’m voting on the propositions.

My vote for State Assembly Member, 41st District: Julia Brownley

What does the State Assembly Member do?: The State Assembly Member serves as one of the 80 members of the State Assembly, which along with the state senate, forms the California State Legislature. The State Assembly helps to make state laws.
______

Julia Brownley, the 3rd term board president of the Santa Monica–Malibu School Board, is endorsed by both the Sierra Club and the California League of Conservation Voters, as well as CA NOW.

With lots of experience working in the educational system, Julia’s made improving our schools and protecting the environment the central points of her campaign :) She has some great ideas for addressing transportation issues in the 41st district — She wants better public transit, NOT bigger freeways.

In general, I’m really impressed with the work and detail Julia’s put into writing about the issues she cares about. I like what she’s been doing, and I like what she sez she wants to do :)
