Starbucks Bike Safari

Posted by Siel in caffeine, fairtrade, starbuckschallenge (Friday December 15, 2006 at 11:49 am)

[For those new to the Ethiopia coffee trademark issue, start here]

It’s on, and all are invited to join in the Starbucks Bike Safari!

Unless it rains, then it’ll just be a visit to 1 Starbucks store instead of a safari to multiple stores.

But — if it does NOT rain, we will convene at the Starbucks store on Wilshire and 26th in Santa Monica and visit a few Starbucks in the ‘hood on bike. At each location, we’ll ask for Ethiopian coffee, and hand a fact sheet to the barista.

When: Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, 2 pm - 3 pm.
Where: Starbucks, 2525 Wilshire Blvd. (26th and Wilshire), Santa Monica.
What: Show up with a bike and a to-go cup — I’ll have copies of fact sheets and bike routes for everyone. It’ll be a mellow, easygoing bike tour through Santa Monica, with mellow, easygoing and polite stops at Starbucks stores.

Sadly, the forecast predicts rain — In which case, we won’t bike around, but we’ll just sit down at the first Starbucks, chat over a cup of Ethiopian coffee, and plan the next revolution. Mwahahaha –

  1. Sounds like a cool gathering. Here in Ukiah, the tour wouldn’t last long, rain or otherwise…only one Starbucks here (boohoo).
