Black Gold comes to LA Jan. 12

Inspired to act after watching Black Gold? (film review here). This post’s part of a series for people who’ve seen (or want to see) the film and want to act. [Part VI is here]

At long last, Black Gold’s coming to LA for reals.

It opens on Jan. 12, 2007, at Laemmle Grande. This theater’s downdown — 345 S. Figueroa St. You can get showtimes here.

Action Step VII: Spread the word in Los Angeles!

We need to get the word out and people into theaters. The materials at our disposal: Posters, postcards, and java jackets. The question: What ideas do you have for getting the word out using the above materials?

So far, the SAJE let us put Black Gold stuff all over the Just Holidays Marketplace event — and even used some of the java jackets for the Remy Sol coffee :)

Do you have an event where we could distribute some of this stuff and spread the word?

Groundwork Coffee has offered some help (and I’m holding you to it, Ric! :P) but of course, we need more grassroots help. Email me and let me know what your ideas are, and we’ll get some materials to ya :)

  1. I had a nice chat with the filmmakers for my podcast HERE, at portafilter.net. Just an FYI.
