I noticed the menu boasted free range chicken and line-caught ahi tuna when I walked in, but Tender Greens is even greener than I thought!
This yum lil eatery in Culver City’s “able to get the best produce to the table within hours of harvesting” according to Anne Smith, owner of the New School of Cooking in Culver City.
Apparently, the chefs at Tender Green are partners in organic Scarborough Farms :)
My friend Marci and I visited sunny and airy restaurant a month or so ago. We ordered at the counter, then found a table outside, me with a glass of wine (organic!). Our food arrived momentarily; the ahi tuna was delish.
Tender Greens. 9523 Culver Blvd. Culver City. 310.842.8300.

I was just there in the last hour and they are closed from Dec. 22 thru Jan 3–bummer.
I had checked the website beforehand too to share the menu with my friends I was meeting for a movie, and no notice on their website.
Oh well, my first visit to Tender Greens will have to wait til ‘07
Next to the trendy Ford’s Filing Station, which is closed as well. Culver City, my town, pretty much shuts down at holidays apparently. Not many folks at the movies either.
Happy New Year from sleep Culver City!

Damn! So sorry to hear about that! A similar thing happend to me with my pharmacy. I called to see if they were open beforehand, but it just kept ringing. I actually had to go all the way to the pharmacy at USC (I have my health ins through USC, so I have to use their pharmacies), go through a side door to the main building (the main door was locked), read the lil note on the inner door saying I needed to go the pharmacy on the health sciences campus. Of course, there was no address — much less directions — to this other pharmacy — though luckily, they put down a number. I had to call, get directions from a kind dude who works there, drive over, pay for parking, and wait for an hour before a long ride from East LA back to Santa Monica, burning fossil fuels. That’ll teach me never to leave prescription refills to the last day ever again –

I went there back in October before heading over to a couple of galleries up the road.
I was pleased at how much of the food was vegan. The barley and hazelnut salad with cranberries was superb.
