Critical Mass meets 405 traffic jam

Posted by Siel in bicycle, de-car-ing, santamonica (Saturday February 3, 2007 at 11:07 am)

Last night, about 300 cyclists met up for the first day of Bike Winter and the 2nd anniversary of Critical Mass Santa Monica.

Serendipitously(?), the massive accident on the 405 immobilized all the cars on the road — They had to sit there, watching us merrily bike around them.

So we biked around, with a couple stops for antics organized by the organizers — like the wrecking of a yellow car (hummer?) pinata –

Then was the party at the Bicrowave — which Anna says is to become like the Bicycle Kitchen of the westside –

Don’t miss the 2-weeks worth of events planned for Bike Winter (details here, schedule of events here)! And find out more about cycling events in my roundup here :)
