- ZAP in Santa Rosa imports electric scooters and a small, short-distance electric car — and “aims to launch a 155-mph all-wheel-drive electric sport utility vehicle next year.”
- Drink Beer. Save the world. A blog for beer drinking activists.
- Not For Sale. A campaign to end slavery in our lifetime.
- Really disgusting produce gets delivered to Johnny Rockets and IHOP, among other restaurants. Johnny Rockets has quit buying from this produce vendor; IHOP sez it washes its produce throughly. (via blogging.la)

the ZAP cars (http://www.zapworld.com/) has a bit of strange look, at least the sedan and truck are amazingly ugly as usual (sadly) when it comes to this types of cars. the xero and obvio look more than candies than cars. hope they perform better :-)

So if I drive an electric SUV, it’s acceptable? It’s still wasting energy (and materials), and the batteries are not exactly solar powered. It’s depressing to see that even the electric car makers cater to that particular crowd.

Has anyone here had any personal experiences with electric bikes and/or scooters? So many of these companies seem so, I dunno, fly by night, that I’m hesitant about plunking down a G or three on a product that may or may not be reliable and supported on a long-term basis.

I don’t think SUVs make sense for personal use — but what about for group use? As a new member of Flexcar, I’ve noticed that some of the locations have a Honda SUV — which I might use when I buy 2nd hand furniture and need to transport it –
I haven’t tried electric bikes or scooters — The next time I see someone on one, I’ll have to flag them down and get a testimonial. I guess I don’t really see the point in them for me personally — why not just develop a lil more quad power and bike it uphill sans electricity? Then again I don’t live in San Fran — It might be helpful for some people –
