Eco-yarns at Suss Design

Posted by Siel in knitting, losangeles (Monday February 12, 2007 at 2:32 pm)

Eco-yarns must be catching on at knitting stores! My latest finds were at Suss Design, a somewhat high-end store that’s made knitting hip in Los Angeles, especially as a hobby for celebrities. Suss has even put out a book called Hollywood Knits; Julianne Moore’s among one of many celebrities who model the knits in the book.

Like Compatto in Santa Monica, Suss Design also carries some organic cotton yarn from Blue Sky Alpacas — with a clear label about its organic-ness, which makes me think people are specifically asking for organic yarn.

You can even get some silky bamboo yarn from Habu, in v. pretty colors.

Suss is one of those places that just make you want to buy all sorts of stuff, from gorgeous, already-knit sheer alpaca sweaters, to very expensive knitting kits. This usually has the effect of my leaving with nothing, because I get overwhelmed –

Suss Design. 7350 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles. 323.954.9637.
