Just saw this ad (left) in my Co-opportunity newsletter.
Love the green lip! The ad’s by The Center for Food Safety; it’s part of a campaign to get the FDA to say no to cloned food.
You may already know that Dean Foods, the nation’s largest dairy company, won’t take milk from cloned animals. This move’ll force all suppliers to avoid milk from cloned animals. Due to the sheer size of Dean Foods, the milk ban could prevent the adoption of cloning in the dairy industry altogether.
I actually don’t drink milk due to lactose intolerance. I can do yogurt and hard cheeses though, and always go organic –

Have they even cloned a cow yet? Is this an issue? Also I note the main point seems to be that studies have not been done to prove it would be safe. Which also means that studies have not been shown to prove it is not safe. Who knows it could be better for people.

This is an interesting tidbit, because as I remember, Dean owns Horizon Organic now. Was it the company culture of Dean that led to this decision or was it influence from their smaller, greener, subsidiary?
