I’m moving from the most-casual to the dressy — So now we’re on slides and clogs for your casual comfy walking desires. The contenders, arranged by price:

Timberland’s Summer Clogs have soles made of 30% recycled rubber. If that’s good ’nuff for ya, you can get these in “cement” or blue for $75.

Simple Shoes Shufs look perfect for shuffling around home or town — if you can shell out $80 for bamboo lining, water-based cements, and 100% post consumer paper pulp foot forms.

Patagonia Cosmos, made of 70% natural latex sole harvested from the hevea tree, 20% recycled EVA midsole, and a latex and coconut heel. Cost: $90.

Patagonia Clover. Made of eco-treated leather, natural jute trim, recycled EVA foam midsole and 70% hevea-based latex — yours for $90.

Patagonia Cypress, made of eco-leather, if you don’t think of that as an oxymoron. Get ready to shell out $90.

El Naturalista Strap Clogs are made with veggie-dyed eco-leather, and avaliable in black, brown, cuero, and green. They also cost an eye-widening $130 per pair.

I’m a bit at a loss as to why eco slides and clogs are so fucking expensive. I get that we greenies haven’t reached scale yet, but damn!
