Earth Day meets PR: The diet to solve all your enviro problems?

Posted by Siel in consumerism, environment (Friday April 13, 2007 at 9:50 am)

Elle magazine’s 2nd annual green issue gives out “Green Awards.” As expected, the awards go to enviro-luminaries like Al Gore (cool) and, of course, the sisters of Alpha Phi at U of Texas (huh?) for daring to make a poster about global warming then posing behind it.

You also won’t want to miss these more important features in the same issue: “Take off 10 years in 10 minutes” and “The one diet that solves all your problems.” Does that latter one include global warming probs?

But I suppose that’s the expected norm for Elle mag content, and at least environmentalism gets a spread. The issue hits stands on Tuesday.

  1. whoah - have you even read the magazine? because that’s a pretty judgemental statement if you haven’t. i’ve read it and i hardly ever read elle. but this issue is actually a good, green issue. and you know, even if it’s just mediocre to you, at least the green info is going out there to an audience that perhaps wouldn’t otherwise get it.

  2. I used to read it, but at some point, articles like “The one diet that solves all your problems” just seemed like too much of an insult to my intelligence. Thanks for echoing my statement that “at least environmentalism gets a spread.”
