I’m all about the lawns made of moss. Have you heard of these? They consist of 6 - 10 varieties and tend themselves.
The problem is, they take years to cultivate. Sometimes as long as decade before you have a nice velvety carpet of moss.
I suppose a garden would be even better since you can’t eat moss :P

No — Hadn’t heard of them! Sounds cool, but would they work in SoCal? I thought mosses only liked shady damp areas — Maybe there are sun-loving varieties I don’t know about?

Perhaps you’ll find a project our office is sponsoring to be interesting, too: Citrus Sunday. We ask the community on May 6th to take the citrus fruit from their yards and donate it to their local food bank.
