To the east of my apartment, Arizona Avenue’s pretty much a residential street. Pretty lawns, lots of people out walking their dogs, and an occasional couch set, free for the taking.

To the west, Arizona takes me past all the fun-sounding companies: Pop Sound, Riot!, and of course, Google. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, Arizona turns into a busy farmers’ market, as it did yesterday –

If life was more like walking the streets of Santa Monica, I’d have a better idea of what to do next. I’d also be making clear, visible progress.

That would be nice to have — a drawn-up map of life I can paint little red lines on to demarcate my progress –
