Your own private rain barrel, free to Santa Monica residents

Posted by Siel in environment, losangeles (Thursday June 7, 2007 at 10:14 am)

Sustainable Works — a Santa Monica-based green nonprofit — is giving away free rain barrels. Designed to “fit onto a downspout and capture 132 gallons of rainwater,” these rain barrels come equipped with a filter bag and a spigot for attaching a hose to water your lawn or garden.

Any Santa Monica resident whose downspout currently drains to pavement can get a free rain barrel. Just call Matt Henigan at 310.458.8716 x 2 or email henigan_matt@smc.edu.
