I stuck to wine but somehow we went through 3 bottles of VeeV at the book exchange party to celebrate my reading success last night, which’re now decorating my patio.
Either my friends really drink a lot, or Summer makes a stiff mojito — though VeeV’s only 60 proof, vs. 80 proof for rum. I really like Acai sorbet and juice, though I can’t really pick out the fruity acai taste in the VeeV. Then again, I’ve never tasted it straight — only in VeeVitos –
VeeV’s made in part with acai, a berry grown in the Amazon rainforest that’s currently in vogue for having lots of antioxidants. A buck per VeeV bottle goes to green initiatives like Sambazon’s Sustainable Acai Project, which promotes more sustainable farming and financial support for growers.
Thanks to Kristen, Meg, and Summer for providing the homegrown mint for the mojitos —
Also, thanks to everyone for bringing books :) A lot of interesting trades happened, with books I thought would be orphaned — like Women in Marshal Arts and a Harry Potter book in Spanish — finding lucky new homes.
I do have some extras left over though. I’m keeping the Tolstoy and Bridge of Birds, and taking the rest to Erin’s party-to-be –
