Going green at work isn’t just about switching to recycled paper. Now there’re green roofs, solar panels, and natural lighting and ventilation to consider too — while keeping it all pretty.
“Work,” the latest episode of Sundance’s 14-week series called The Green, showcases some companies pushing the eco-envelope — including an architect renovating a former Mexican restaurant into a LEED certified building, complete with denim insulation and auto-dimming lightbulbs — in Santa Monica, no less.
One company that already has a green space: New Belgium Brewing Co., which gets a tenth of its electric power via biogas created by bacteria treating waste water from beer brewing; the other 9/10 from wind power. The company has a slide and a yoga spot in the office too!
This episode might be the most useful one in The Green series so far, with lots of tips you can easily integrate into your workplace — especially if you’re the boss.
“Work” airs on the Sundance channel tonight, Tuesday, July 3, at 9 pm. Don’t have cable? You can download the episodes via iTunes.
