The new Santa Barbara-based company Sweetie Cakes Co. makes cake and frosting mixes made with fair trade and organic ingredients — all of them vegan with sugar-free and gluten-free options.
Apparently, the mixes’re doing well in taste tests! So says an LA Times article about Sweetie Cakes. Too bad I found out ’bout this too late for my 2nd bloganniversary –
The chocolate cake costs just $5.99, which makes a 9″ round 2-layer cake.

These mixes are great! They taste just like classic chocolate cakes. We ordered the gluten-free. Shipping costs money, but we saved by ordering 6 to get flat rate shipping.

Wow! How long do the cake mixes keep? That’s a lot of cake :P
