Take in a green home exhibit, Do it Now: Live Green, at the opening reception — a free event with food, gifts, live music by DJ Paul V. of Indie 103.1, plus a special appearance by Chico Bag Plastic Bag Monster.
This new exhibit, self-described as “a celebration of changing consciousness and innovation that is being implemented today, not tomorrow,” showcases home products made from renewable, recycled, and repurposed materials. See what a pretty green home looks like — and find out how to turn your home green, plus where to get the goods for the green transformation.
When: Opening reception on Sat., August 25, 4-7 pm; exhibit runs until Oct. 20, 2007
Where: Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis College of Art and Design, 9045 Lincoln Blvd., Los Angeles
Alt-fuel car owners can start the party early by joining the LA Biodesel Brigade: Caravan to Otis. Meet in your alt-fuel vehicle at Big Imagination Group, 3603 Hayden Ave., Culver City on Sat., August 25 at 3 pm, then caravan over to Otis and let attendees ooh and aah over your car during opening reception.
The show’s curated by Colette Brooks of Big Imagination Group and Biobling, Meg Linton of Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis, and Yvette Roman of Beyond the Lawn. A whole bunch of green-related events and classes’re planned in conjunction with the show; check out this schedule for details (PDF).
