What are you doing for Step It Up? Here’s the 2-parter I wrote ’bout this grassroots environmental action day –
I’m planning to go to the Global Warming Rally in front of the Federal Building at 11000 Wilshire Blvd., mainly because the event’s close to me and easily accessible via Metro 720. The schedule:
11 am - 12 pm: Welcome. Optional yoga. Samples of ACTIVATE vitamin water.
12 - 1 pm: Lunch break. A group’ll walk to Native Foods for take-out.
1 - 3 pm: A speaker from a green company, plus perhaps a free screening of a movie. Both TBD, so I’ve no clue as to how exciting either will be.
3 - 4 pm: Closing ceremony.
I’m planning to go — with Chocolate Chip Zucchini cookies, with farmers’ market zucchini, of course — in hand. Might you be there too, with your own home-baked concoction?

i really think that ur president can really do something to help the ailing earth IF HE WANTS TO .. bcos America IS the world’s biggest consumer. and USA has the most modern technology …
can u imagine if he passes a law to say that by Next year all NEW public transport, taxis , buses ( better still cars ) should be electric or hybrid, solar or fuel celled etc etc.? and everybody knows that the technology is there. dont give excuses that it is expensive blahblahbalhblah .. when everybody uses it the cost will come down. isnt that obvious ??
Can u imagine how much oil will be saved ? then USA will not have to be SO dependent on oil and get into an IRAQ situation.
There is only 1 Earth… Save it before it is too late. the ice caps are melting as we speak ……

I’ll be going down to Jack London Square in Oakland to participate there. Not sure what is planned, but of course I’ll be sure and write about it afterwards!

Thanks for your support. I am excited about this event, but need to raise funds to pay for renting a community room, a table & 25 chairs. I checked the price of tent rental & it’s too expensive. I asked for donation from 2 companies, but they only gave me a small discount. $65 for community room, $45 to rent a table & 25 chairs. Please do what you can to help out.
