Clicklist: Wonder (wine) Woman

>> Wonder wine gadgets. Why haven’t geeks invented a Temporal Acceleration Device to age wine faster?

>> Gallery of Geek-o-lanterns. My fave’s Pacman

>> Happy job as happy perspective. Most, says Tal Ben-Shahar, “fail to appreciate the potential for a sense of well-being that exists right in front of them.” I may be one of these people. You?

>> A Roundtable on the legalization of marijuana at Freakonomics. I noticed the pro side used lots of facts and figures, and that the anti relied on generalized statements. Historian and author Richard Lawrence Miller’s take made a lot of sense: “opponents of reform are no more interested in the mainline scientific consensus than are persons who oppose taking protective steps to reduce risk of climate change. There is no debate, merely theater.”

“Legalization or not?” Hmm……..if someone could tell me how to reverse the changes that have happened to my 21 year old son since he began using that “not a drug but an herb” (his words) I would keep an open mind and consider their arguements. But all I see is a wonderful, handsome college educated young man who has lost all his ambition, desire for daily hygeine, stalled career goals (working fast food jobs that do not drug test) and who can’t remember what you told him 30 seconds ago. Can someone tell me how to reverse these changes?

Alot of people who use marijuana never go on to uing harder drugs, but I bet prob 99% of people who DO use harder drugs started out with smoking marijuana.

Sorry to hear ’bout your son, but I have a hard time seeing what your argument actually has to do with whether or not to legalize (it’s not legal, but that clearly didn’t prevent your son’s probs).
