Wednesday freebies: Turtle Feet, Surfer’s Beat

Posted by Siel in freebies (November 21, 2007 at 7:11 pm)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

Today’s giveaway’s an autographed manuscript of Turtle Feet, Surfer’s Beat, a book by Marina Kuperman that’s perhaps marks the beginning of an entirely new genre: The eco-teen romance.

I totally read Sweet Valley High back in the day, but hurray! I’m no longer a teenager. Thus, I didn’t read Turtle Feet, Surfer’s Beat, but I hear the plot stars one Penelope, a semi-spoiled suburban teen girl from the US who’s forced to spend 2 weeks at the Leatherback Turtle Biological Center. As you may’ve guessed, Penelepe turns into an enviro-activist eager to save these turtles from extinction. A cute surfer boy gets involved somewhere along the way.

Got a teen kid — or maybe you’re a teen yourself, at least at heart? Then sign up for the drawing via a comment or email by Friday; drawing happens Sunday. US addresses only.

To find out more about the book and the author, read a Q&A with Marina at Diane’s Big Green Purse. 10% of all the proceeds from book sales go directly to saving the Leatherback Turtle and other marine animals.
