I’m not sure why I love Bill McKibben more — because he wrote Deep Economy which made me rethink the American dream, because he founded 350.org which has galvanized environmentalists around the world — or because he comes up with extended metaphors about antibodies.

Watch the Grist video of Bill, who said on the International Day of Climate Action that he feels “as if the planet’s immune system’s kind of kicking it — as if the kind of antibodies that are represented by conscious citizens are beginning to isolate the threat and trying to take some action.”

I’m motivated to take more eco-action — and maybe also get a flu shot too while I’m at it –
