While at Hamilton High School (left) for the Friends for Expo meeting, I got to thinking –
My 10 year Fairfax High School reunion is coming up in just a couple weeks.
My age has become a surreal number already. When I see teenagers, I’m a little bitter, a little wistful –
Thanks to a lil summit thing Equal Exchange is throwing, I’ll be in Boston that weekend, and happily absent at the reunion — which is to take place at Saddle Ranch in Universal Studios CityWalk, of all places…
To the right, a mural on one of the Hamilton High walls –
“I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.”

Ha ha!
The ten-year reuninon is a fun one; people are all the same only more so. (Grin). With one or two big suprises. (And those are often a real doosey or two.)
Hey, ya know — it’s way more green (small g) to be your age and not fret it . . . and act like yourself whatever age *that* is ascribed to . . . Turns out the childish 35 year old becomes the excentric 80 year old — same behavior, just other people’s projections (grin).
One of my favorite places in the world is Big Sur — in part because most of the women in their 30′s who live there have gray hair! No dies, frosts, tints or coverups . . . no worries about aging imposed by society . . . (Grin). . .

Well, hopefully I can make it to the 20 year one — though I’m not sure I’ll look forward to it… Honestly, I’ve kept in touch with just 1 person from high school, and am not sure I’d remember many names or faces –
