World Water Day came and went on March 22, but clean water will be month-long focus for Aveda. The beauty products company’s going to dedicate Earth Month — aka April — to clean water rights around the world.
And to shine a light on pressing water issues, Aveda’s debuting a limited edition Light the Way 2009 Earth Month Candle, to be sold just during the month of April. All the proceeds from the $10 soy wax candle will go to Global Greengrants Fund, a public charity that will use the funds to provide grants for community-based water projects around the world.
The candle itself’s described as having a “French-inspired stress-relieving aroma,” with organic French lavender, lavandin and clary sage. The candle comes in 95% post-consumer recycled glass, inside a 55% post-consumer recycled paper box printed with soy ink!
Get them starting April 1 in your local Aveda salons and stores, or online. Aveda’s also planning a Walk for Water campaign; check with local salons to get involved. Aveda’s goal is to raise $3 million in April.
