Back from The Great Los Angeles Walk

Posted by Siel in events, losangeles, santamonica (Saturday November 22, 2008 at 7:25 pm)

I’d like to award myself the Laziest Walker award for The Great Los Angeles Walk 2008.

My qualifications: Of the 18-mile walk, I covered exactly 1 mile. I saw Caroline on Crack’s tweet about some of the walkers reaching the City of Santa Monica’s border — after which I sauntered down a block to meet up with them and walk the last mile to Brittania Pub for the afterparty. That’s me and Caroline below.

There, I finally met Mike of Franklin Avenue who organized the whole thing, Will Campbell of [sic], Joni the Accidental Yogist, and other fun bloggers.

To my credit, I also walked back home — and stopped for a little bit to watch the skaters.

It’s 63 degrees in Santa Monica right now –

  1. Ha! I’ve known people who “walked in spirit” so you are definitely not the laziest. Great meeting you again!

  2. Yeah, it was so cool running into you like that. Great timing! Thanks for keeping our spirits up that last mile.

  3. I have to echo H.C. and Caroline’s comments. It was fun to celebrate at the end, especially being the second group behind only two other people… it was great meeting you, Siel.
