For some reason I thought we just had a DAY of biking to work — Thursday, May 17, 2007 — but it turns out it’s a whole work week.
Bike to Work Week starts on Monday, May 14, 2007, so pledge to pedal it — you’ll get a free bicycle patch kit (while supplies last) AND be automatically entered to win prizes.
Never biked it before? Figure out how to combine transit with bicycling here. Get free bus / subway rides on Thursday, May 17 just by boarding with your bike or helmet.
The pit stops sound kinda fun — cuz they’ll have giveaways and snacks and stuff.
LA City Council Prez Eric Garcetti’s gonna do it, as are Councilmembers LaBonge and Greuel. I would totally bike to work too, but hey, school’s over and I don’t work :P
What a bummer: Big Blue Bus isn’t offering free rides with a bike this week. I guess for Monday morning (the only morning I’m planning on taking the bus in the morning), I’ll ride up to Wilshire to get a free ride into Santa Monica on the 720.
