Bloblive: Pitch your best green biz idea

BlobliveSo you think you have a great new green business idea — but can’t be sure whether your idea’s really brilliant, or whether you just think it’s brilliant. To figure out if your great idea could or should be turned into a successful entrepreneurial reality, maybe some outside input could help!

Enter Bloblive, a weekly series of open mic nights for ideas and entrepreneurs — with drinks. Go, and all you’ll have to do is muster up the liquid courage to pitch your business idea to a roomful of slightly buzzed Angelenos — who’ll hopefully pay attention and give you valuable feedback.

And the next Bloblive event will center around social entrepreneurship, led by Rob Reed of Max Gladwell:

When: Monday, April 13, 7 pm – 10 pm
Where: Westside Eclectic, 1323-A Third Street Promenade (In alley between Promenade and 4th St.), Santa Monica
Cost: Free for first time blobbers, then $10 per event or $20 for a monthly pass.

There’ll be free food, but you’ll need to BYO wine or other form of liquid courage. No, you don’t need an idea to attend. Erick Brownstein, the emcee and organizer for the L.A. events, says “there’s great value in just listening to those of others and the feedback they get … and, of course, being available to help out others.”

I’ll be there, listening. Read more about Bloblive at the L.A. Times — then start working on your pitch!

Update, 6/5/09: Green Drinks meets Bloblive!

  1. Thanks for the post! We’re excited to provide an opportunity for all kinds of entrepreneurs to cross-pollinate… We love it when green meets tech meets retail meets art, etc. Hope to see you there. @ErickB
