Environmental nonprofits: Sign up to participate in Blogger Beach Cleanup now — and your organization could win free, expert web and social media goal-setting and goal implementation with the help of Net2LA!

Social media can help bring about social change — but eco-nonprofits often don’t have the expertise and know-how to use technology to galvanize grassroots activism. That’s where Net2LA — the L.A. branch of NetSquared, a TechSoup Global initiative — comes in. Net2LA brings together nonprofits, developers, designers, and other tech experts to merge technology with social impact.

And Net2LA will award one nonprofit participating in Blogger Beach Cleanup with:

>> a Support Session dedicated to your organization to determine your tech needs

>> assistance establishing a Social Media Outreach plan

>> education in best-practices on the web and time-saving tools

>> volunteer help creating a strong web presence, including a website and e-newsletter.

>> an About Page on Net2LA’s Meetup with a link back to your website

>> extra exposure through Twitter and Facebook from Net2LA and its followers

The winner will be selected by Net2LA organizer Bryan Koch plus  the organizers of Blogger Beach Cleanup (me and Sarah Bayles) — and announced at Blogger Beach Cleanup.We’ll be looking for a nonprofit that 1) is eager to embrace technology, 2) has clearly defined goals, and 3) willing to dedicate resources to maintain online presence.

The winning nonprofit should be ready to present its “case” at the November 10 Net2LA Meetup to define scope and timeline.
