What can we do about junk mail? Not in e-mail but the real mailbox. It is so wasteful and nobody uses it? Is there anything we can do?

Let's hope that, by the time of the next index, Siel is such a household name that it won't even need to say "blogger" afterward!

I had a similar moment of joy seeing myself in someone else's print. I remember the first time I found my book ('Down by the Los Angeles River' - Wilderness Press 2005) referred to in a footnote.

I was at the 2007 LA Times book fair (pimping my book) and purchased a book called 'A Place in the Sun: Photographs of Los Angeles by John Humble.' Many of his photos are of the LA River. One of the essays included a footnote that referenced my book... and it was really complimentary. I was so happy to see it there in print! I'll quote it: "... noted in Joe Linton's highly informative Down by the Los Angeles River..." Highly informative! In print!
