To the naysayers who didn’t like the sounds of an incandescent lightbulb ban in California, citing un-brightness of CFL bulbs:
Popular Mechanics did a serious comparison test between 7 different CFLs and incandescent lightbulbs. Its conclusion: “the new fluorescent bulbs aren’t just better for both your wallet and the environment, they produce better light.”

I am a CFL nerd and the Popular Mechanics results are just what I could have used when I moved into my new place. Lucky for me the bulbs they were pushing in multi-packs(N:Vision) were warm enough for my tastes.
